Gánek is the clubhouse of the 22nd Svišti scout troop on Slunečný vršek in Hostivař. A few minutes’ walk away is Hostivař forest park with a reservoir, an ancient hillfort and a farm — and when you want to explore Prague, the bus stops a hundred metres from the door. For a full weekend or a single sleepover.

Times are approximate, at a child’s pace from the clubhouse door. Everything is within walking distance — no bus needed.
The Hostivař forest park starts right behind the footbridge. With a bit of luck you will see hares, roe deer, a heron or a slow-worm.
Right at the park entrance from Košík: mouflons, fallow deer, wild geese and ducks, sometimes birds of prey.
The woods start a short walk from the clubhouse, so a night game needs no transfer. Afterwards, back to the warmth and into sleeping bags.
The park has plenty of trees with low branches — perfect for climbing under the leaders’ eye.
The playground by the reservoir has a free zip line, and there are several playgrounds with wooden play equipment around the park. Expect a queue of the whole unit.

Dumbbells and pull-up bars in the open air, free and next to the fire pit — for a morning warm-up or circuit training.

At 7 pm we move into the Gánek clubhouse in Prague-Hostivař, have dinner and head out for a night game in Hostivař forest park, which starts a few minutes from the clubhouse. We sleep on camping mats and in sleeping bags on a warm wooden floor.
In the morning we take the bus and metro to the centre of Prague. In the afternoon we come back to Hostivař reservoir — rowing boats, the zip line and a campfire. In the evening we watch the sunset over Prague.
After breakfast we pack up and tidy the clubhouse. We hand it over by noon and on the way home visit Toulcův dvůr farm and the fallow deer and mouflons in the forest park.
For Prague groups, Gánek is the ideal first sleepover: close to home, parents bring the children by public transport and nobody faces a long journey.
One night is enough. A warm floor, a shower, a kitchen with a dishwasher and the forest outside for a short programme — and if someone gets homesick, home is not far.
